Apartment Tedo with wonderful views
of the Adriatic Sea - Komarna
2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom - enjoy the Mediterranean as it once
was.
The
Property: Apartment Tedo has wonderful views of the bay
below. It has a living room with an open kitchen in lower
floor. The upper floor has two bedrooms (both with air condition)
and a bathroom with washing machine. The house lies on a mountain
so there is exit to the terrace (with garden grill) from the
back bedroom (four beds). The master bedroom (two beds) has
a balcony with view of the bay. The back terrace and garden
(where a family of turtles lives!) faces east so there is
shade from noon onward. The four houses share the terrace
and each house has a roofed terrace in front of the house.
The front terrace and the balcony have sea view and are facing
west and are in the sun from noon onwards.
Extra

The two bedrooms have air-conditioning. There is a fully equipped

Location:
Komarna is on the Croatian coast 70 kilometres North
of Dubrovnik. All the holiday villas and apartments have a
clear view of the azure Adriatic Sea beyond the beach. The
village lies in the bay of Mali Ston engulfed by the mainland
and the peninsula of Peljesac. The coast is dotted with small
uninhabited islands, reefs and cliffs offering a spectacular
view much like Southern Thailand or Greece.
Komarna is the
perfect place for making a vacation if you want to be disturbed
by nothing but the sound of rattling palm leaves and soft
waves rolling in on the beach. There is no chance of getting
bored though. Just three kilometres to the South you will
find the tourist town of Klek offering a wide selection of
restaurants, bars, shops and discotheques in the high season,
and there are a lot of historical sights nearby and world-class
tourist attractions to be easily reached in a day-trip.
Travelling: The
motorway from Zagreb is now open all the way to Split (July
2005). Komarna is just off the main North-South highway (E65)
that cuts along the coast. It is about 70 km. North of Dubrovnik
and 120 km. South of Split. Look out for the "km stones".
The road to Komarna is between the km 733 and km 734 stones.
There
are four options if you want to fly in. Dubrovnik Airport
is the most convenient. There are plenty of flights coming
in, there are good bus connections (address and timetable
here) to Komarna and it is affordable to go by taxi or we
can arrange to pick you up.The second option is Split Airport
which is also very well connected to the outside world. There
are frequent bus connections going South (busses running between
Dubrovnik and Split and pass by Komarna). See paragraph above
for details. The third option is Mostar in Herzegovina. Mostar
Airport is closer to Komarna than the other two but there
are not many flights (especially not discount flights) coming
in. Should you however land at Mostar a taxi to Komarna is
the easiest. It costs a fraction of what it would cost anywhere
in the EU. Otherwise check out Sarajevo below. All busses
from there pass through Mostar.
At the
moment there seems to be good prices for tickets to Sarajevo
airport. Distance to Komarna is about 200 km. That will set
you back about 200 Euro in a taxi.
Bus is
another good alternative from Sarajevo. The ride takes about
three hours. The best way to get from the airport to the bus
station is by taxi. That will cost Euro 8-10 (somewhat of
a fortune for anything else in that town, but EU and UN aid
workers seem to set the price and they apparently don't care
to haggle for peanuts).
Busses
towards Komarna depart infrequently - Lots of them during
the first part of the day and very few from late afternoon
and on. This is when the planes arrive. Spending a couple
of hours in Sarajevo should not make you miserable though.
The old town is completely rebuilt (with the occasional bullet
hole here and there) and is definitely worth seeing - even
if this means catching a later bus.
