The
Property: If
you are planning a romantic or family holiday in Cyprus, that
includes wonderful beaches, playing golf and some lovely scenic
walks in idyllic surroundings, then this village stone cottage
villa is for you! It's ideal for couples for a romantic holiday,
for families who wish for a quiet location within easy reach
of all attractions, the more mature person seeking a quiet
and relaxing time, people who wish to share accommodation
in order to save hotel costs, any nature lover or person seeking
birdwatching, walking or golfing holidays.
The Old
Mill House is a stone-built villa bungalow in Limassol, Cyprus
that is for rent all year round. It once housed horses which
worked a Cyprus village mill and has now been fully rebuilt
and refurbished in such a way that it exposes stone walls
and oak beams as its key features and thus is an idyllic stone
village villa with all the mod-cons that one would expect
in any western house. When staying at The Old Mill House villa
bungalow, the nature around will thoroughly enchant you. Cyprus
birdsong is heard all day (a birdwatcher's paradise), whilst
traffic is a memory of your past. The Limassol mountain views
can easily compete with the best of Wales, with the added
benefit of a stunning climate (Limassol beaches a mere 20
minutes drive); some say there are over 330 days of sunshine
per year here. The village (Klonari), in which the stone cottage
village villa sits, consists of no more than 20 stone cottages
and has a local orange grove, from which all people can help
themselves. You could enjoy the most relaxing and peaceful
Limassol, Cyprus holiday rental possible.
Extra Information: The
Old Mill House is a stone-built villa bungalow in Limassol,
Cyprus that once housed horses which worked a mill. Its cost
is equivalent to many apartments for rent in Cyprus yet the
experience is vastly superior - that of pure tranquility.
It has been fully rebuilt and refurbished in such a way that
it exposes stone walls and oak beams as its key features and
thus is an idyllic stone villa with all the mod-cons that
one would expect in any western house. When staying at The
Old Mill House villa bungalow, the nature around will thoroughly
enchant you. Birdsong is heard all day (a birdwatcher's paradise),
whilst traffic is a memory of your past.
The villa bungalow
consists of: Two bedrooms – one with double bed, second
with two singles, and a sofa-bed in the living room (sleeps
6 in total). Two modern bathrooms - main bathroom with shower,
toilet and bidet and the second with toilet. A modern kitchen
with all new appliances (fridge-freezer, gas oven and stove,
washing machine, microwave, ironing board with iron, and vacuum
cleaner). A lovely living room with feature log fireplace,
sofa-bed, and terrestrial TV (please note - there are two
small steps down into the living room).
There are two free-standing
electric radiators for the winter. Very powerful portable
air-con so that you can move it where you want. Private patio
area that is surrounded by many flowers and such like. This
area is ideal for sitting in the sun, or eating under the
parasol. Gas and electricity are all inclusive. A telephone
box around the corner.
Location:
The Limassol and Cyprus mountainous views can easily
compete with the best of Wales, with the added benefit of
a stunning climate (beaches a mere 20 minutes drive); some
say there are over 330 days of sunshine per year here. The
village (Klonari), in which the villa sits, consists of no
more than 20 stone cottages and has a local orange grove,
from which all people can help themselves.
The village
itself allows for many wonderful walks and is only one minute
from a British-run golf club (www.vikla-golf.com), which is
frequented by many ex-pats. The golf club offers facilities
found in many complex apartments as it has a swimming pool,
bar, and serves sandwiches and snacks.
The area
is ideal for bird watching/ornithologists, mountain walking
and amblers, those generally interested in nature, and golfers.
Children can play in a very quiet area, adults can enjoy the
peace and tranquillity of the village and location, and everyone
could drive for a day out to the Limassol beaches or other
Cypriot locations. The nearest main city is Limassol, which
has bars, restaurants, beaches, a port, a castle, museums,
compact shopping centre, and much besides. The nearest village,
Kallaki, is five minutes away and contains a delightful church,
café, and a small supermarket that sells all of your
daily essentials.
The church
across the road is thought to be 16th century and contains
original frescos that are absolutely delightful. The lady
opposite the villa has the enormous key that will allow you
to view a very beautiful excerpt of history and religion.
Travelling:
Directions - Take the dual carriageway west from Larnaca.
Just outside Limassol, turn off at Junction 21, signposted
Parekklisia, and follow the road into Kellaki (around 10 minutes).
Once in Kellaki you will find yourself at a T-junction; simply
follow the signs to Klonari (turn right and then almost immediately
left). The Old Mill House is 5 km from Kellaki. On arrival
in Klonari, it is the first house on your right, opposite
the church. Please note - a hire car is recommended.
It's best
to hire a car for Cyprus. You can hire a car for about the
same price that you would pay for one ticket on a coach tour.
You therefore have much more freedom and if you are in a couple,
group, or family, you can save a lot of money. Taxis from
the airport are also more than one day of car hire, although
buses are much cheaper (they don't run on a Sunday however).
The roads are excellent and the driving very relaxed. Most
places of interest are between 15 minutes and 1 hour drive.
