The
Property: Magnificent countryside, old fashioned street
names and a bustling square, surrounded by cafes and restuarants.
This is the setting to this enchanting stone-built Provencal
village house (sleeps 6). After winding up through vineyards,
cork oak forests and olive groves, you will reach Maison de
la Fontaine, with its superb roof terrace overlooking rooftops
and the dramatic scenery beyond. The interior decoration has
been beautifully co-ordinated and it has been elegantly furnished
in local style, retaining all its character features with
tiled floors, shutters and wooden beams. Steeped in history,
this picturesque hill-top village, fortified since the 11th
century, has preserved its character with its stone houses
and yet is only 12 miles from the Mediterranean sea and the
world-famous resort of St. Tropez known for its numerous beaches,
restuarants and ancient town.
Extra
information: The house (140 m²) has central heating,
with towels and linen provided. In the kitchen, there is a
4 ring stove, dishwasher, fridge, grill, hob, oven, washing
machine. In the living room there is a fireplace and living
area for 6 people. The dining area has seating for 6 people.
There is 1 bathroom, 1 shower room. There are 3 bedrooms (2
doubles, 1 family bedroom, 1 room with 4 beds) and they sleep
a maximum of 6 people. For entertainment there is a cd, radio,
satellite or cable, stereo system, tv and video player.

skiing, Large public swimming pool in village center.
Location:
La Garde Freinet is approximately 25 minutes from the A8 Autoroute
and 12 miles from St. Tropez and Port Grimaud. Nice Airport
is 1 1/4 hours drive and Marseilles is 1 1/2 hours drive with
flights available with many airlines from most UK airports.
Car rental is readily available at competitive rates from
both Nice and Marseilles airports.
Quiet
village location yet only 2 minutes walk from bustling village
centre. Numerous delightful bars, cafes, shops and restuarants.

La Garde
Freinet is a superb medieval hill top village with a ruined
Saracen era fort and spectacular views. Enjoy lovely walks
in the hills or just stroll around the small streets and admire
the fountains, washing places and numerous other points of
interest. Many festivals and artistic events held throughout
the year. Guided tours of village. Public swimming pool, playground
for children, sports ground - basket ball, volley ball &
tennis, boules. Walking, mountain bike and horseriding. Excellent
beaches between St Tropez and Ramatuelle. Villages of Grimaud,
Gassin, Ramatuelle, Le Luc & Le Muy a must to visit.
A visit
to the ancient town of St Tropez is a must. The playground
of the rich and famous is a beautiful old fishing village,
initially popular with artists and later celebrated as the
place where Brigitte Bardot made her first film. The artists
are still there, displaying their work along the superb harbour
quay. Many cafes and restuarants where you can sit and watch
the world go by and the yachts go in and out. Shops to suit
all tastes. Affordable, designer, antique and food shopping.
Wonderful fish market on certain days of the week. Fashionable
bars and clubs for the young and energetic.
Travelling:
The nearest international airport is Nice at 60 miles.
The nearest beach is 12 miles. The nearest motorway junction
is A8 Autoroute - Le Luc at 12 miles. A car is recommended
