The Property: Casa Pequeña is a charming one bedroom cottage which is ideal for couples and has lovely garden views from all rooms. Furnishings are traditional in style with a mixture of modern and antique. There is a cot available.

Casa Pequeña is fully furnished for full-time living, equipped with all kitchen essentials, quality furnishings, original pictures, books and videos, lamps, electric heaters for winter use and cooling fans for summer. Cleaning is done for your arrival and a welcome food pack is included. Linen and towels are provided and duvets in low/mid season. Bring your own beach towels. There is also use of folding beach chairs, cool box and umbrella for picnics.

The Garden: The accommodation is based in Puntalon which is 3kms east from Motril on the Costa Tropical de Granada. Cortijo Nuevo is a traditional country house set in an agricultural area. Divided into three private living areas; the original Cortijo is used by the owner; Casa Pequeña is a charming one bedroom cottage and El apartamento is modern, light and airy.

All the above are set in mature sub-tropical gardens which surround the Cortijo. The garden is private and relaxing with sea and mountain views from the roof terraces.

The stunning gardens are fully landscaped and maintained with care by the owner. There are many patios and seating areas, both sunny and shady. Choose where to sit for 'al fresco' dining or just chilling out with a glass of wine after a busy day exploring Andalucia. You can even play a game of giant draughts!

There are mature gardens with palms and various fruit trees, flowering shrubs, a restful fountain, BBQ area as well as the recently added swimming pool with sun deck area. The gardens can be illuminated at night and enjoyed into the early hours, stars always seem to be visible. Feel free to help yourself to citrus fruits, avocados and chirimoyas when in season. There is also a shady vine covered car parking area.

A recent addition is the 6 metres by 3 metres swimming pool. At a depth of 1.2 metres throughout this is an ideal place to cool off. There are sun terraces around the pool with both sun and shade. Underwater flood lighting making it perfect for night use (no neighbours to disturb). Pool is not heated, but is generally beautifully warm and ideal for swimming April-October. The water is maintained and pool can be used 24/7 by the hardy!

Location: Set on the lush coastal plain midway between Malaga & Almeria, Casa Pequeña benefits from a rural location. Hidden just outside PUNTALON village, 3kms east from Motril and 65kms South from Granada. Growing sub-tropical fruits and vegetables is a mainstay of the area. The ideal destination for travellers seeking a holiday away from the package deal - the area remains SPANISH.

Casa Pequeña is an excellent touring base; car essential to discover the many white villages of the Alpujarras & Lecrin Valley, Granada City & Alhambra Palace and the dramatic coastline with many small resorts and unspoilt beaches. Also good base for bargain property searches - many buyers have stayed here!

DISTANCES : Beach/Coast 2kms, Restaurant 1km and Shops/Bars 3kms.

MOTRIL 5mins - thriving market town & commercial port/good shopping & busy year round. SALOBREÑA 10mins - pretty pueblo blanco, Arab Castle with panoramic views over fertile plain & Granada coastline. ALMUÑECAR 25mins - traditional Spanish resort, much evidence of past civilisations. Interesting Botanical gardens and ornithological park. NERJA 45mins - largest resort on this part of the coast. Popular with British visitors - visit Balcon de Europa, Caves at Maro also Frigliana, often voted prettiest village in Andalucia.

ORGIVA 35mins - main town of Western Alpujarras, latterly colonised by 'new age travellers' offering many alternative therapies. GRANADA 50mins - Rich cultural heritage, visit not just the Alhambra & Generalife gardens, but explore the Albaicin a tangle of Medieval alleys & whitewashed houses. The modern city with charming pavement cafes and bars.

MINI HOLLYWOOD 90mins - old movie set, now cowboy theme park. Home to many Spaghetti western blockbusters. SIERRA NEVADAS 80mins - Snow capped most of the year. Excellent Skiing usually from December-April.

Normally bookings are multiples of weekly rates above. However, can be flexible especially out of High Season & accept bookings of 10/12 nights or long weekends 3/4 nights. Daily price rates then calculated at 20% of relevant weekly rate. Rental prices are INCLUSIVE of accommodation, linen, towels, electric, water, gas, welcome food/wine pack, Internet access and cleaning for arrival. There are no hidden "extras".
