The Property: Cervano is a quality Bed and Breakfast set in the tranquillity of the hills of Lake Garda, at Toscolano Maderno (Brescia) and not far from Cecìna.

Our country house and farmhouse are set in the middle of the fields with a beautiful view of all of the lake and the golf course, and in the heart of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park. Completely refurbished in 2004 the Country house retains the spirit of a bygone age with all the needs and necessities of modern life. Filled with a mixture of both antique and modern furniture it is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. The Farmhouse is structured like a fort with an internal courtyard paved in river stones. Fresh water is supplied by the public aqueduct and also by a spring , coming from the hills, at the back of the house. The Mediterranean climate and the wonderful position affords the growth of almond trees, figs and pomegranates. Numerous olive trees and vineyards produce the famous extra virgin olive oil of lake Garda and the Gropello wine. Our South facing vista allows us to use solar energy to produce ample heating and power. The woods are at the back of the house and morning brings the roe bucks to drink from the brooks of the estate, whilst in the warm summer evenings you will see foxes playing in the meadows by the house.

At 250 m above lake Garda, over a beautiful golf course, with a wonderful sightseeing of the whole lake, distant only 5 minutes, Cervano used to be the heart of a large property where olive oil and wine were produced since 1818. Recently restructured(2004), to become a luxury Bed and Breakfast, Cervano can represent the best choice for an international traveller who wants to visit Northern Italy in absolute relax. In the middle of the Padana plan, over the hills of the lake Garda, is equally distant from Milan and Venice (90 miles), at 30 Miles from Verona and Brescia, 40 miles from Trento and 55 miles from Mantua.

The suites are naturally air conditioned, heated by solar collectors, and perfectly noise insulated; no noise pollution,no light pollution, you can always see the sky. There is the possibility of long trekkings in plan paths,mountain biking,sailing and golfing in 5 minutes.

Extra Information: The suites are spacious and well furnished and almost all overlook the lake. A solar powering system supplies all of the hot water. Internet 108 Mbit broadband and billiards on our antique table are available.

The Mono suites are furnished , where possible, with original '800 furniture in the house's style, perhaps all the windows see the lake. They are made of a bedroom and a dining room, available also as a second bedroom, with a high design toilette and shower. On the wall ancestors's paintings. It is possible to use the Kitchen, on request. All the apartments are connected to Internet wide band.

The Valle apartments comprises a large bedroom, sitting room and en-suite bathroom. Facing West to beautiful sunsets, the vineyard and a hill that covers the lake it is a particularly quiet and peaceful room. The bedroom area has two iron beds which can become a double bed and a mirrored corner wardrobe. The sitting area has a sofabed, two wooden armchairs, satellite TV and a safe. The designer en-suite bathroom has a shower, WC and a seawater glass basin.

The Monte apartment, suitable for the handicapped, faces Northwest to the hills and is the coolest of the apartments in the heat of the summer. Comprising a large room with bedroom and sitting areas the apartment also has a double sofa beds, a walnut wardrobe, writing desk, satellite TV and a safe. The spacious, designer, en-suite bathroom has a large , handicap friendly shower, a WC and a seawater glass washbasin .From the back windows it is possible to bird watch and see the wildlife drinking from the brooks.

Amenities include: Continental breakfast and Picnic Baskets. No Smoking. Possible Pets (inquire). Children are welcome. Handicap Access. Lovely secluded location, as you are far from neighbours. We have an historic cellar. Small orchids in Apr/May/Sep. We are in the middle of a large Park. There are small brooks with shrimps. We have a Wireless Internet Connection.

Location: Very close by is the beautiful 18 hole Bogliaco Golf Course. Lying in a valley below the house we can arrange golf at a discounted rate for our guests. Cecìna, a pretty stone village of 300 residents, is a short walk away. In August each year the ‘Settimana d’Arte a Cecina’ is held and organised by the residents. This event has become a highlight for numerous tourists and artists worldwide.

The estate is parallel to the golf course, but 600 yards higher and is hidden from the public roads . Only the hardiest of trekkers and mountain cyclists make it up as far as Cervano. The privacy of all of this means that the woods are overrun by wildlife and the existence of animals, like deer, roe buck and foxes and the brooks complete the perfect picture. A long and winding road running between the shade of rows of Cypress trees allows for good walking in the summer heat.

The Fiorini family cellars were established at the very beginning of the 18th Century and at one stage was producing over 500,000 litres of wine each year. This was almost exclusively red with a small amount of the Moscato grape white wine . The cellars were rebuilt in 1889 by Vincenzo Fiorini but today wine production is reduced to a few thousand bottles for use by family and our bed and breakfast guests. The hand press that you can see inside needed 7 men to press the grape juice. Once we produced several thousands of litres of Extra Virgin olive oil (one of the best in the world) using the esteemed varieties of olive ‘Gargnà’ and ‘Casaliva’ The Gargnà trees are no longer planted because of the variable and uncertain production but those trees that remain are 130 years old. The few hundred litres of olive oil we now produce is of the Casaliva variety and is totally organic and of excellent quality ( acidity close to 0,1 %).

Travelling: Cervano, our house on Lake Garda, is in the county of Toscolano Maderno, the Province of Brescia and not far from Salò. Situated 900 yards above sea level we are very easy to find. Coming from Salò - proceed till after the town of Toscolano. Turn left at the sign for Cecina. (This is a rather narrow road and you may wish to turn left at the GARGNANO/TOSCOLANO overhead sign a little further down the road and then follow the instructions below.) Pass through the village and turn left at the church. Follow the signs for CERVANO. After 1 mile pass through the black gate and travel for a further half mile. .You have now arrived!

Coming from the North - (Riva del Garda or the highway at Rovereto). After Bogliaco village turn right just before the large sign reading GARGNANO/TOSCOLANO. Proceed along this road (with the gold course always on your right) and turn right at the sign for Cecina. For 1/2mile follow the sign for Cervano and turn in at the black gates and proceed a further ½ mile up the driveway.

Airports: Brescia ( VBS ) 25 miles or Milano Orio al Serio 45 miles - all with Ryan Air.
