The Property: Imagine waking up to the sound of the surf and the call of the sea birds on beautiful North Captiva Island, Florida. Situated on 1½ acres, this delightful 3 bedroom/2½ bath beach front home is set up to sleep 8 to 10 adults comfortably! With a view of the water from 2 balconies, you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Swim anytime in the private heated swimming pool.

Beautifully furnished and decorated with Mexican tile and a Coral fireplace, we've equipped this house with all the comforts of home: satellite TV, VCR and movie videos, DVD player, stereo and CD player, and a fax machine.

Enjoy the sunset from either the enclosed veranda or while sitting in the jacuzzi on the deck. Our home on Norrth Captiva Island will enchant you. When you really want to get away from it all, this is the island getaway for you! With no cars allowed, golf carts are the primary source of transportation. A complimentary golf cart is included with your rental.

Bicycles, sea kayaks, and fishing poles are provided for your enjoyment. Our hostess will meet you at the marina and escort you via a charter boat to your accommodations.

Known worldwide for it's seashells, North Captiva has some of the most spectacular species you will ever see...including "Lion's Paws" and the elusive "Junonia" volute. Get your picture in the local island paper if you find one! Wanna go catch your dinner? Experienced guides are available to take you out for a fishing or diving adventure you will never forget! Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, and Jewfish...these are only a few of the fish out there for you to catch. If you don't feel leaving the island, you can fish right from the beach!

3 bedroom/2.5 bath with decks and balcony, additional outside shower, fishing poles, sea kayaks, bicycles, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, private heated swimming pool, private jacuzzi on the deck facing the ocean, and a golf cart. Two queen beds, 2 twin beds, and 1 sofa bed.

Full Kitchen: dishes, cookware/utensils, dishwasher, microwave, oven/stove, cappuccino machine, coffee maker, blender, toaster, iron and ironing board, and washer/dryer. Basic items include: Paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, laundry soap, dish soap, and bar soap.

Household: Central air conditioning, ceiling fans, linens/towels, beach towels, satellite TV, VCR and movie videos, DVD player, stereo with CD player , telephone, fax machine, modem jack, adult board games, and propane barbecue grill.

Crib and high chair are also available. Airstrip privileges are included. No smoking. Sorry .... no pets.

Location: North Captiva Island is part of a chain of islands which include Sanibel and Captiva (accessible by car). North Captiva Island has slowly developed over the last 40 years, but is still only accessible by small airplane or boat. There is an airstrip for those who choose to land on the island. A hurricane in 1921 severed Captiva Island into two separate land masses...thus creating the island that we now know as "Upper or North Captiva".

Previously inhabited by Calusa Indians over 6,000 years ago, the conquistadors arrived and nearly wiped out the tribes. Frequented by such famous pirates as Jose' Gaspar, the island earned it's name from the women held "captive" by the pirates. With limited development potential, it is unlikely that Upper Captiva Island will ever see a motor car or a McDonalds. The U.S. Government has established a large wildlife sanctuary, insuring that the true Old Florida charm remains forever untouched!

Development has been carefully planned and the environment protected to insure that everyone will be able to enjoy one of the few remaining natural wonders of Florida.
